Scalloped Potatoes

Scalloped Potatoes

Simple ingredient but heartwarming dish.

Ingredients:

  • 2 potatoes (sliced, best using a mandoline slicer)
  • 400 ml of cooking cream
  • A dash of cayenne pepper
  • A dash garlic salt
  • A handful of minced flat parsley leaves
  • 1 steam of rosemary leaf
  • A dollop of butter
  • Cheddar (As much as you prefer)
  • 2 minced garlic

How to bake scalloped potatoes:

  • Slice the potatoes into 1/8-inch-thick slices. I prefer to use a mandoline slicer or this step. Soak the potatoes in a bowl of ice water.
  • In a small pot, fry garlic with butter before adding cooking cream, cayenne pepper and rosemary leaf.
  • Layer half the potatoes in an oiled baking dish. Top with half of the sauce and cheddar cheese.
  • Wrap the baking dish with an aluminum foil and pop it in the oven for 40 minutes under 200 to 220 degree.
  • 40 minutes later, remove the foil and continue to bake for another 10 to 15 minutes.
  • When done, sprinkle chopped parsley leaves to add more color to the dish.
