Simple ingredient but heartwarming dish.
Ingredients:
- 2 potatoes (sliced, best using a mandoline slicer)
- 400 ml of cooking cream
- A dash of cayenne pepper
- A dash garlic salt
- A handful of minced flat parsley leaves
- 1 steam of rosemary leaf
- A dollop of butter
- Cheddar (As much as you prefer)
- 2 minced garlic
How to bake scalloped potatoes:

- Slice the potatoes into 1/8-inch-thick slices. I prefer to use a mandoline slicer or this step. Soak the potatoes in a bowl of ice water.
- In a small pot, fry garlic with butter before adding cooking cream, cayenne pepper and rosemary leaf.
- Layer half the potatoes in an oiled baking dish. Top with half of the sauce and cheddar cheese.
- Wrap the baking dish with an aluminum foil and pop it in the oven for 40 minutes under 200 to 220 degree.
- 40 minutes later, remove the foil and continue to bake for another 10 to 15 minutes.
- When done, sprinkle chopped parsley leaves to add more color to the dish.
