Ochazuke is a simple rice dish made by pouring tea over cooked rice, with toppings of your choice. I usually love a nice simple crumbled salted salmon on top of my ochazuke.
Ingredients:
- Instant Nozawana Chazuke
- Dashi
- 1 tsp Soy sauce
- 1 1/2 tsp Mirin
- Salt
- Rice
- Grilled salted salmon
- Arare for Ochazuke (tiny rice crackers)

How to make Dashi broth:
- Boil 750 ml of hot water then add dashi, soy sauce, mirin, and a sprinkle of salt.
- Set it aside once you’re done (should take about 3 minutes).
How to make Ochazuke:

- Break your grilled salmon into pieces so it looks like flake salmon.
- Plate your rice in a bowl and the salmon on top of your rice. Scatter instant Nozawana Chazuke over your rice.
- Slowly pour your dashi broth to your bowl of rice.

Ochazuke is healthy and hearty, always a meal I’d enjoy on a lazy Sunday.
