Learn how to make butter at home for fun! Great for toasted bread or a gift for close friends! This will take between 10 to 15 minutes.
What do you need:

Instructions:

- Before you start churning the thick cream, remove your thick/heavy cream from the fridge and leave it out for at least 2 hours. Make sure the cream is room temperature.
- Pour 600 ml heavy/thick cream into the The Kilner® Butter Churner.
- Attach the lid with the churning mechanism and turn the handle, which starts to rotate the paddles.
- Continue to churn for around 10 minutes to 15 minutes until the butter fat separates from the buttermilk.
- You’ll know the butter is ready when you hear a loud “CRACK” and it’ll be difficult to rotate the paddles whilst you’ll have a lumpy looking butter in the bottle.

- Strain the buttermilk off and transfer your butter to a bowl of ice water with ice cubes.
- Clean off the buttermilk from your butter up to 3 times (this ensured the butter doesn’t go rancid fast).
- Wet your cutting board a little before transferring your butter to the chopping board to shape the butter fat using the butter paddles.

Once you’re done, pop your butter on a chopping board and continue to shape your butter with the paddles. Once it’s done, wrapped your fresh butter up with a baking paper and store it in your fridge!
