The basic Japanese pantry ingredient

Japanese home cook recipes are usually pretty simple. And to most surprised, the recipe usually contains the basic ingredient that most Japanese household will have them ready in their pantry. Hondashi – Dried bonito fish stock, usually used most all soup-based dishes

Japanese Soy Sauce – Used in most soup-based and non-soup-based dishes. Great flavouring ingredient!

Mirin – Sweet cooking sake, great to flavour your food when you need some sweetness in your soup/food

Cooking sake – Great for removing any pungent stench
