White Fish Meunière

White Fish Meunière

Interestingly, Basa fish is actually pretty tasty and affordable in Australia. It cost only 3 dollars max in Woolworths. Feeling something fancy and simple? This is definitely a to-go recipe.

Ingredients:

  • Basa Fish
  • Salt
  • 2 Tablespoon of wine
  • 1/2 Teaspoon of Honey
  • 1 Tablespoon of Soy Sauce
  • 1 Table Spoon of Lemon Juice
  • Herbs
  • Butter

Instructions:

How to prepare the fish:

  • Salt your fish for 5 to 10 minutes, max 30 minutes
  • Wash off the salt from the Basa fish, then pat the fish dry it with paper towel
  • Sprinkle some herbs on each side of your Basa fish
  • Spread a thin layer of flour on each side of the Base fish
  • Pan fry each side of the Base Fish with a spoonful of butter, make sure your fish is golden brown before taking it out from the pan
  • Pan fry some snow peas if you wish to add some greens on top of your fish

How to make the sauce:

  • Make sure your pan is on low heat.
  • Add in a spoonful of butter.
  • Add 2 tablespoon of wine.
  • Add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice.
  • Add 1 tablespoon of soy sauce.
  • Stir all the mixtures before pouring it on top of the Basa Fish

Feel free to plate your fish however you want, usually I’d add some Dill on top of the fish. Additionally, White Fish Meunière goes really well with a glass of white wine.
